I shall watch with interest at their progression. I think the USA and Mexico will be the top two in CONCACAF for a while yet, but it's time for a change at number 3.

Step aside Costa Rica - bring on the Canadians! :-)Chris Ohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14451130702323813966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27676150.post-4593669986463633802007-06-08T16:15:00.000+01:002007-06-08T16:15:00.000+01:00Canada's system has improved greatly in the past 1...Canada's system has improved greatly in the past 10 years or so. Their U21 team isn't bad and those players are beginning to graduate to the senior squad.

With their remaining games against Haiti and Guadalupe (This is a country?), they have a chance to avoid the US and Mexico until the semis. If they do well in Gold Cup, they should be able to parlay that into a decent qualification run next year.

A lot of Central American countries are aging and Canada could be timing it perfectly to be that third team in CONCACAF.Chris (B Squad)https://www.blogger.com/profile/01980150880131368118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27676150.post-76299210183212706352007-06-08T15:37:00.000+01:002007-06-08T15:37:00.000+01:00Yes, a good result for England. I've always had a soft spot for Canada since the 1986 World Cup. Israel and Russia. If they don't take the full points from both matches, qualification may slip away. Especially so, if they are relying on taking 3 points in Russia in October.
