Yet if he was at the start of his career now, he would have achieved possibly none of it as who would give someone 3 years at a historically big club with nothing to show for it? He'd have been given the boot before the end of his 1st season...

Rich - As Danny Baker recently said, when Rafa won the Champions League so early on at Liverpool, he didn't just buy himself some breathing space - he bought himself an aqualung the size of the Royal Albert Hall... :)

heh...very true Chris! mind you, I think his reserves might be running low as, given the short answers he gives at press conferences nowadays, he's clearly trying to conserve oxygen ;-)

Comparisons are always difficult. Personally, I believe that Busby's achievements with United were greater than Ferguson's.

It could be argued that Ferguson's reign has coincided with a period where United should have dominated - an era that rewards the already rich.
