Lol! According to Wikipedia, British Caledonian were bought out by British Airways in 1987.
As for Brighton, I'm not really sure...
When will teams start being sponsored by companies with 'womens interests'.
'Lenor fabric conditioner', 'Magnum Ice Cream', 'Ann Summers', 'Blossom Hill', 'Take a Break'
Thinking about it, perhaps after Liverpools 80's attempt, it didnt work out with there sponsors of 'Candy' - makers of Washing machines.
I thought I just heard something then... Must have been Emmeline Pankhurst spinning in her grave... ;-)
Or a Candy washing machine, perhaps?

You wouldn't think of 12 of the 22 teams as Premier League teams these days (Notts County FFS!)
And eight of the 17 sponsors listed are pretty much unrecognisable in modern life.

If teams are trying to expand their fan base into America, they should get some more "real American" sponsorship. Who wouldn't want to see Wayne Rooney with a Wal*Mart Logo emblazoned on his chest? Or, perhaps Fulham should market the brand with their American contigent, whilst wearing Halliburton shirts. Fun times to be had by all, when Cheney shows up to the Cottage!
I'm amazed no-one's taken the McDonald's dollar yet. I know they're a corporate partner to numerous competitions, but why hasn't a team splashed the golden arches over their shirts yet?
Perhaps because McDonalds have yet offered to sponsor anyone?

There have been a couple of american shirts, Pizza Hut(Fulham) and Doritos (Wolves?) are the most recent that come to mind. For a year or so, my roommate and I referred to Fulham's home park as Craven Hut.
